Kekeris Yachts, a family company, is one of the oldest and most respected names in the yachting industry. Founded in 1986, the company has been providing quality, privately owned, yachts and services to customers for over 40 years. From its humble beginnings based on the effort of Giorgos Kekeris himself, to its current status as a real, big, family business in the yachting industry. Our history is long and worth-reading.
Kekeris Yachts was founded by fisherman, Giorgos Kekeris, who had a passion for the sea. Giorgos started out, in 1986 buying his first sailing yacht named “EMMANUELA”, type Jeanneau Sun Shine 38”, taking its first timid steps into the boat-charter in his ‘home’-pier/6 of Alimos marina.
As his business activity grew, Giorgos Kekeris met Angelos Moschovelis, who had just bought, in 1996, a brand-new sailing yacht named “CARTIER”, type Beneteau first 42s7 and they began to manage their own sailing yachts together with Harris Nikolouzakis (nephew of Giorgos), who had just graduated from the school of Technological Applications – Department of electronics. By the early 2000s, the three friends had become the leading yacht suppliers in the domestic Greek market, having in their possession more than fifteen (15) brand-new sailing yachts, having a preference for BAVARIA YACHTS as their main yacht supplier, one of the most modern style manufacturers of sailing yachts worldwide.
In 2004, while the three friends were growing their fleet, “Kekeris Yachts” was officially created with the aim of providing new and reliable yachts to all yacht-charter agencies and sailors. The family business has been followed ever since by Maria Kekeris (daughter of Giorgos), experienced in English & German language, so that the interpersonal relations with the partners have an immediate and real response. The company also opened new charter bases across the country, allowing to better serve its customers. By the 2020s, Kekeris Yachts had become one of the largest yacht owners in Greece, offering premium quality yachting services.
Today Kekeris Yachts is still a leader in the yachting industry with an extensive brand-new fleet (32”up to 51”feet) and 24hr./7d. technical service support, that includes everything from technical care during the charter, up to the very-personalized services of its customers. The company continues to innovate, having raised the number of its own new sailing yachts to over thirty (30), providing new e-technologies to serve -in real time- its customers staying by their side 24/7. In the year 2023, the family business is happy to announce that one more family member joins, Dimitris Moschovelis (son of Angelos), who is studying entrepreneur management and dreams to develop the company further. With thirty-seven (37) years of experience under its belt, Kekeris Yachts is sure to remain an industry leader for many years to come.
